First
day : Cusco – Moray – Pichingoto
After we have picked you up from your hotel we will set our
course through a beautiful landscape to the archaeological
group of Moray which is situated in the Sacred valley. In
Moray we will leave behind our transport and let the guide
explain us about the history of this site. Afterwards we
will walk for about an hour and a half until we arrive to
the Maras village which is famous for its Colonial inner
doors and its beautiful Colonial church. After we have
visited the streets we will continue our course to the salt
mines which produce salt for human consumption. Descending
to our final point Pichingoto where we will observe the
farmers from this area doing their daily needs. Our
transport will take us to the Ollantaytambo village where we
will spend the night at a economic lodge.
Second day : Rafting in
Ollantaytambo – Chilca
After our succulent breakfast our transport will take us to
the starting point of our rafting which is graded 5 – 4
until we arrive at Chilca where our camp site will be
situated.
Third day : Cusco – Chillca –
Patallacta
Chillca, starting point of our trekking, along the creek at
the left hand side of Urubamba river with sights over the
snowy peak of Verónica and the Sallapunku ruins. In the
afternoon we will take a short walk in the surroundings of
our camp to visit the Patallacta ruins and the agricultural
terraces of Qénte.
Fourth day : Patallacta -
Llulluchapampa
An easy passage in the morning, which will take us to the
Huallabamba community, from here the path ascend towards
Llulluchapampa (Forrest of Qeñual trees) before we get to
the first pass where we will camp and have an emotional view
over the Huayllanay and surroundings.
Fifth day : Llulluchapampa –
Chakicocha – Puyupatamarka
After we have walked for approximately 2 hours, we will
arrive at the Warmiwañusca pass (4.200 m.a.s.l.), from there
the trail is descending towards the Pacaymayo valley, from
where we will be ascending to the second pass where the
outstanding view over the Vilcabamba mountain range will be
waiting us. Descending to Chakicocha, where we will have
lunch. In the route we will visit the ruins of Runkuracay,
Sayacmarca and finally Puyupatamarka where our camp site
will be.
Sixth day : Puyupamarka – Machu
Picchu
The trail will lead us in a surprisingly way towards the
cloudy mountain, where we will visit the Phuyupatamarca and
Wiñaywayna ruins, two hours later we will ascend to Inti
Punku or The sun gate where we will enjoy an astonishing
view over the magnificence Machu Pichu village. Later we
will camp close to this viewpoint.
Seventh day : Machu Picchu
A very fascinating day, a guided visit through the temples,
houses, agricultural terraces and gardens in this magical
village. Witch cannot be described with words or photos
alone.
