First
day : Cusco – Ocongate – Tinqui
We will pick you up with bus from your hotel and drive to
Tinqui village. Under the passage we will pass numerous
villages along the Valley of Huatanay river and we are going
to see the archaeological rests of Pikillacta. As we pass
the Urcos village the trail ascend through small villages
and farmed land in the direction of Ocongate, from where we
will see the first sights of the Vilcanota mountain range.
Ascending to Tinqui (3.800 m.a.s.l.) Our camp will be
situated in the environment of the village.
Meals : Snack, lunch, teatime and dinner.
Second day : Tinqui – Pucacocha
Lagoon
Beginning our long walk in the direction of the base of the
majestic snowy Ausengate mountain (6.372 m.a.s.l.), under
this part we will enjoy the marvellous landscape, observing
the villages with its agricultural fauna and watch huge
amounts of lamas and alpacas. After we have visited the
small village Upis (4.140 m.a.s.l.) and shared time with the
school children, then the course will continue to the sector
of the thermal water, where we will set up our camp where
the snow layer begins. In this area its common to see the
beautiful Andean wild goose. (4.370 m.a.s.l.).

Third day : Lagunas Pucacocha –Palomani
Pass - Chilcapinaya
We will overcome the pass of Arapa (4.700 m.a.s.l.) and
afterwards descend to the Paucarcocha lagoons, known under
the names Jatun Pucacocha, Vinacocha and Huchuy punacocha,
where the landscape is fabulous and we can watch distinct
species of the Andean birds. Our camp will be set up at the
border of one of the lagoons. (4.575 m.a.s.l.)
Meals : Snack, lunch, teatime and dinner.
Fourth day : Palomani Pass-Chilcapinaya-Jampa
valley
Ascending the distance to the Alcatani Pass (4.650 m.a.s.l.),
continuing across a descent to the Ausangatecocha lagoon. At
this point we will start a new ascent in the direction of
the Palomani Pass (5.050 m.a.s.l.), when we have conquered
the pass we will descend to the Machuraqay valley, from
where we will have gorgeous sights over the mountains.
Whilst walking we can observe the mesmerizing Andean
landscape, likewise the numerous small groups of lamas and
alpacas. Our camp will be located at the Chilcapinaya
sector.

Fifth day : Jampa Valley –
Pachaspata Lagoon Qomercocha-Pacchanta
Our crossing will continue along the Jampa valley. Here we
can observe the Andean inhabitants doing their daily work,
numerous groups of alpacas and sheep’s, and the impressive
snowy peaks of Jampa and Colquecruz. Ascending towards the
last pass with the altitude of (4.600 m.a.s.l.) observing
the beautiful Ticllacocha lagoon. Afterwards we will be
descending to the Pachaspata Pampa where our campsite will
be at the border of the Qomercocha lagoon.We will continue
to enjoy the astonishing landscape whilst descending the
valley in direction of the Pacchanta village. The thermal
water situated close to the village will be the best
compensation for those who would like a refreshment. Having
marvellous sights of the mighty and snowy peak of Ausengate.
Our camp will be close to the Pacchanta village.

Sixth day : Pacchanta – Tinqui -
Cusco
A short crossing which runs in the middle of a typical and
beautiful Andian landscape and colerful villages which leads
us back to the start of our trip, Tinqui, this way we will
complete our fascinating circuit which circulates the “Apu”
Ausengate. Afterwards we will be transported back to Cusco
where there will be a transport waiting to take you back to
your hotel.
