Almost
four decades after the conquest of Peru the outstanding
people in the empire of the Incas maintained a independent
state in the valley of the mountain range Vilcabamba,
northeast of Cusco. The combination of snowy mountains,
thick jungle and wide rivers made it hard to invade for the
Spanish conquistadors, and two intents failed until it
finally felled in 1572, but it took a huge Spanish military
force to capture it. Instantly the region collapsed and they
abandoned the state. It was lost until 1834 when the wish of
finding this enigmatic and lost city started to deploy
expeditions from all over the world in this area. And it
continued until recently. Our expedition will follow in the
steps of explorers as famous as Hiram Bingham. The official
discoverer of Machu Picchu in 1911, or Gene Savoy, who
finally discovered the real place of Vilcabamba in 1964. Our
journey will be a unforgettable experience characterized by
the incredible nature of the Andes, high passes, y collapsed
villages semi hided in the dense rainforest.
