    Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 5 Days

    Do the tour in 4 days and 3 nights, it will be unforgettable. We will cross and feel the different ecosystems of the route, surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna.

    We will see exotic birds, Peruvian bears, Coaties, and unique species of Flora, like various varieties of Orchids and the Unca (myrisianthes Oreophila), from which the Incas built their Ceremonial vessels.

    1. Day 1 Cusco - Kilómetro 88 - Patallacta

      Live the spirit of the mountain and get up close to the beautiful snowy mountain La Veronica. We will visit the archaeological group of Patallacta, where we will listen to the guide’s presentation on the passage of history in these sacred places. We will continue for an hour of walking towards Tarayoc where we will be able to have lunch and regain strength to ascend up to 3000 meters above sea level, towards Wayllabamba, where we will camp.
      Food: Snack, lunch, snack and dinner.

      This adventure starts between 07:00 and 07:30 am. We will arrive by bus at your hotel for pick up and make a one and a half hour drive to the picturesque town of Ollantaytambo, the only Inca city in Peru that is still inhabited. Along the way, we will see communities that are part of the Sacred Valley; Chinchero, Maras and Urubamba. Once in Ollantaytambo, we will stop for 30 minutes to make the last purchases and we will be ready to go to Km. 82, (Piskacucho / an extra hour of travel). Where we will meet the team that will accompany us during our walk (porters and cooks).

      Our trip begins at Km. 88, along the Vilcanota River, a three-hour walk. We will visit archaeological centers such as Canamarca. Here we will have lunch and we will be able to recover our strength to continue to Patallacta presenting our documents to pass the original passports.

      Starting our journey will be quite easy in the first kilometers. This will be our practice route which is simple and flat with only a few climbs from the 30 minute walk. Around 4:00 pm we will arrive at our camp, where we will recover our strength and visit the archaeological center of Patallaqta, we will be able to sleep in tents and enjoy tea time and dinner.
      Meals: lunch, snack and dinner.

    2. Day 2 Patallacta - Llulluchapampa

      This will be a day of adventure!
      After breakfast, we will begin our journey to the second camp, at 3,850 meters above sea level. The tropical climate offers us spectacular and exuberant landscapes that await us to appreciate the flora and fauna of the area. We will cross the Cloud Forest of Uncas (tree with which the Incas built their ceremonial Keros containers, in which they poured the corn chicha and worshiped their Apus or sacred mountains, it is the only tree of its kind in Latin America.

      We will ascend through Inca stone paths that will take us through history. We will live with the people of Huayllabamba and learn about their agricultural work. In this place we will enjoy lunch and recover energy and then we will continue our way to our camp in LLullucha Pampa, where we will arrive at tea time. The night will be somewhat cold and we will camp at a high altitude, it is a good time to take the coca leaves to Picchar (chew) the pure Inca style.

    3. Day 3 Llulluchapampa - Chaquicocha - Puyupatamarka

      After a walk of approximately two hours, we will arrive at the Warmiwañusca Passage, open at 4,200 meters above sea level. We will experience the typical Andean mountains, all covered in spectacular snow for photography lovers. Then descend to the Pacaymayo valley, where it is time to take a break and have lunch.
      We will continue the ascent to Runkurakay, where we will be part of a Thanksgiving Ceremony to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth), we will offer coca leaves and candies. We will not miss the incredible view of the Vilcabamba mountain range.

      On the way, we will visit the ruins of Runkuracay, Sayacmarca to finally stop at our camp in Puyupatamarka.

    4. Day 4 Phuyupatamarka - Machu Picchu

      Today is the big day, which begins with breakfast, we will visit Phuyupatamarka, to continue the descent in three hours for more than 3,200 steps of living stone path until we reach the city of WiñayHuayna, where we can see the original Inca constructions. Recognizing the high hydraulic engineering and the architectural beauty of the place, an impressive ancient heritage. We will have a guided visit to this incredible archaeological center full of immense platforms.

      After lunch, the tour continues to Inti Punku, Puerta del Sol, which invites us to see the majestic skyline of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We will continue descending to reach our final destination around 4:00 pm, this day we will have the option to sleep in tents or in a hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes, all at the discretion of the passenger.

    5. Day 5 Machu Picchu - Cusco

      The bus awaits us very early to ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
