This circuit offers us a formidable trek that crosses several ecosystems and beautiful views of the snowy mountains of Vilcabamba.
Descend to the deep Canyon of the Apurimac River to go to the heights towards the citadel of Choquequirao.

The most important city of the Inca Empire, Cusco, is located at 3350 masl, where we will go by bus to the Sacred Valley passing through the villages of Maras, Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, towns with living identity that have been maintained through years. Our starting point starts at KM 82 at 2800 masl
<em>Day 1: Cusco - Saywite - Cachora - Playa Rosalina</em>
Today our great adventure begins. We will meet at your hotel at 4:00 am to travel by bus to the town of Cachora. On the way we will pass through the villages of Izcuchaca, Zurite and Limatambo; Crossing the mighty Apurimac River on the Cunyac bridge.
The trek begins at Cachora Square (2,910 masl), where we will meet with the team to help us with luggage during the trek. During the whole trip we will be surrounded by picturesque Andean landscapes, arable land and we will see the villager in their daily farm work.
We will continue towards the viewpoint of Capuliyoc at 3300 m.s.n.m where we will see the majesty of the Apurimac and Choquequirao River Canyon. We will be in a walk among the clouds and mountains enjoying extraordinary views of the mountain range of Vilcabamba emphasizing the snowy one of Salkantay (6,271 masl).
We will continue through Chikiska where we will go through fruit plantations, do not forget to bring repellent since we will be accompanied by mosquitoes all the way. We will go to “Rosalinas beach” for lunch (1500 masl) and then ascend to the town of Santa Rosa, here you can not miss the opportunity to taste Cambray, a drink made with sugar cane. It’s been a long day, it’s time to rest in our camp and be prepared for our second day of hiking.

<em>Day 2: Playa Rosalinas - Santa Rosa - Maranpata - Choquequirao</em>
The day begins with breakfast to start our trek up to Santa Rosa (2500 masl) We can see the natural pattern that brings the landscape of the area; Flora, fauna, different waterfalls that come from the snowy Padrayoq and run all the way until flowing into the mighty Apurimac River.
It is a good opportunity to collect experiences and save memories in photographs. Continue on the way up to Maranpata (3300 masl) to make way for lunch. Make sure not to lose the rhythm, we will be at the gates of reaching the citadel of Choquequirao. Do not miss the wonderful view that this gazebo offers you.
Food: Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner.
<em>Day 3: Visit Choquequirao</em>
Today we will know one of the jewels best kept by nature, the lost fortress of Choquequirao! We will visit the impressive archaeological complex of 3350 masl and visit different places such as the main square, the yachaywasis, the place where the first man, the ushnu, the platforms, irrigation systems, Pirwas, ceremonial places where we can Observe figures of flames on the walls, among many other civil and architectural constructions.
We will have the advantage of observing a typical Andean landscape from the impressive Apurimac Canyon where we can observe the flight of the condors.
Meals: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack and Dinner.
<em>Day 4: Choquequirao - Santa Rosa - Playa Rosalinas</em>
It is time to return. We will go down until we reach the town of Santa Rosa where lunch awaits us. After a short break we will continue descending towards Playa Rosalinas, our best reward will be to enjoy a swim in the great Apurimac River. To the (1,500 masl) the Beach, we will raise our camp. You can not miss the walk that we will make in the surroundings to observe the flora and fauna so particular that offers us the nature in this zone.
Meals: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Lunch and Dinner.
<em>Day 5: Playa Rosalinas - Chiquiska - Cachora - Cusco</em>
This adventure is coming to an end. We will undertake the uphill return to the town of Chiquiska where we can enjoy the products offered by the place.
We return again to Capuliyoc for lunch. We are shortly to reach Cachora, here we will take the transport that will take us back to the imperial city of Cusco to drive to your hotel. Thus we will have completed an unforgettable adventure to the Lost Inca Citadel of Choquequirao.

It is important to take into account that passengers arrive in Cusco at least two days before to acclimatize and make the trek. You can do practice tours like visiting the city and the Sacred Valley, these are gentle walks at considerable heights.
