The most important city of the Inca Empire, Cusco, is located at 3350 masl, where we will go by bus to the Sacred Valley passing through the villages of Maras, Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, towns with living identity that have been maintained through years. Our starting point starts at KM 82 at 2800 masl
Day 1: Cusco - Santa Maria Bike (Optional Rafting)
Today our adventure begins! We will meet at your hotel between 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. To leave for the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on the way we will be able to appreciate picturesque villages with cultural attractions until arriving at the town of Ollantaytambo.
We will make a small 15-minute stop to prepare for the trip. We can supply water, breakfast and buy some snacks. We will head towards Abra Puerto Málaga at 4,316 m.s.n.m, (14,271.6 ft) will be the starting point with bicycles. We will descend around 2000 mt. In approximately 3 hours, passing through small villages, fruit fields and rivers until arriving at the archaeological complex of Huamanmarca. (During the descent by bicycle we will have the support of our private transport).
We will board a bus in the direction of the town of Santa Maria at 1,200 m.s.n.m where we will make way for lunch. Wake up the adventurous spirit in you with the river rafting tour. The rapids in this part of the river are considered as one of the best in Cusco, and the warm climate makes this service an unforgettable adventure.
We will begin this exciting journey on the bridge of Santa Maria, we will take a 1:30 hrs journey along the Vilcanota River, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, finding class 2, 3 and 3+ rapids (dry season), becoming a journey Intense and very exciting. We will be safe with a safety kayak. It is time to return, we will board the bus again to the town of Santa María where we will give way to the dinner and we will be able to rest for the next day of adventure.
Day 2: Santa Maria - Santa Teresa (Hike)
The day starts with breakfast. We will start the walk along the river bank in continuous climb of 650 mts for 2 hours. On the way, we will visit small family houses where we can resume our energies and enjoy the surroundings. We will appreciate the stamp that brings the flora and fauna of the place finding coffee and coca plantations, fruit trees such as mango, orange, banana, abocado, mazasamba, among many others.
Once at the top of the Urubamba Valley this will show us all its exten- sion and majesty as well as an original Inca trail. We will continue at a steady pace to the village of Quellomayo to give way to lunch.
What better reward to our journey than the calidés of the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, we will submerge ourselves in the medicinal waters of the place. We will start again the way to the town of Santa Teresa at 1,540 masl for 40 minutes here we will settle in a hostel to rest and spend the second night of our tour.
Day 3: Santa Teresa - Machu Picchu Pueblo (Hike)
We are getting closer to the goal. Today we will make a 6-hour hike in two sections of 3 hours each.
In the first section we will be dazzled by the water falls from the glaciers. We will arrive at the Hidroeléctrica to make way for lunch. Wake up your walking spirit as you pass the train tracks until you reach the town of Machu Picchu which is popularly known as “hot waters”.
We will enjoy a very pleasant jungle climate where we will give way to dinner and the rest of the last night at the foot of the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
Today you have the option to choose a different adventure; Canopy (zipe-line) has a duration of approx 2 hours and consists of 6 strings. We will do it in the town of Santa Teresa in 15 minutes. You can choose the option of taking the train from the hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes (the cost is USD $ 35.00 is not included in the package) or walk for 3 hours towards the same address. Meet coatis, fruit trees, Orchids and the popular Cock of the Rocks that awaits you on this path.
Day 4: Machu Picchu - Cusco (Hike and visit of the Inca city)
Today we will meet one of the wonders of the world and get up early (4 am) After breakfast we must be ready at 4:30 am to begin our trek to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which will take us an hour and a half approximately, taking The opportunity to see the sunrise on the way We will not miss any details with the guide information for 2 and a half hours.
Write your own experience walking freely inside the Sanctuary, take photographs, selfies or just rest. Make sure you have enjoyed it to the fullest before returning. Once back in Hot Waters we will take the train to the town of Ollantaytambo. It is important to take into account that passengers arrive in Cusco at least two days before to acclimatize and make the trek. You can do practice tours like visiting the city and the Sacred Valley, these are gentle walks at considerable heights.
