Local Information
The most important city of the Inca Empire, Cusco, is located at 3350 masl, where we will go by bus to the Sacred Valley passing through the villages of Maras, Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, towns with living identity that have been maintained through years. Our starting point starts at KM 82 at 2800 masl


Day 1: Cusco - Kilometer 88 - Patallacta

Live the spirit of the mountain and know the beautiful snowy mountain La Veronica closely. We will visit the archaeological group of Patallacta, where we will listen to the guide’s exposition about the passage of history in these sacred places. We will continue for an hour of walking towards Tarayoc where we can have lunch and recover forces to ascend until 3000 m.s.n.m, towards Wayllabamba, place where we will camp.

Food: Snack, lunch, snack and dinner.

This adventure begins between 07:00 and 07:30 am. We will arrive by bus to your hotel to pick you up and we will make a trip of an hour and a half to the picturesque town of Ollantaytambo, the only incanato city in Peru still inhabited. On the way, we will see communities that are part of the Sacred Valley; Chinchero, Maras and Urubamba. Once in Ollantaytambo, we will make a 30 minute stop to make the last purchases and be prepared to go to Km 82, (Piskacucho / an extra hour of travel). Where we will meet the team that will accompany us during our walk (porters and cook).

Our trip starts at Km 88, along the Vilcanota River, three hours’ walk away. We will visit Archaeological Centers such as Canamarca. Here we will have lunch and we can recover our strength to continue to Patallacta by presenting our documents to pass the original Passports.

Starting our journey will be quite easy in the first few kilometers. This will be our practice path that is simple and flat with only a few climbs from the 30 minute walk. Around 4:00 pm we will arrive at our camp, where we will recover forces and visit the archaeological center of Patallaqta, we will be able to sleep in tents and enjoy tea time and dinner.

Day 2: Patallacta - Llulluchapampa

This will be a day of adventure!

After breakfast, we will start our journey to the second camp, at 3,850 masl. The tropical climate gives us spectacular and lush landscapes that await us to appreciate the Flora and Fauna of the area. We will cross the Uncas Cloud Forest (tree with which the Incas built their ceremonial Keros vessels, in which they poured the corn chicha and worshiped their Apus or Sacred Mountains, it is the only tree of its kind in Latin America.

We will ascend by Inca stone paths that carry us through history. We will be living with the people of Huayllabamba and we will know about their agricultural work. In this place we will enjoy lunch and we will recover energy and then continue on our way up to our camp in LLullucha Pampa, where we will arrive at tea time. The night will be somewhat cold and we will camp at high altitude, it is good time to take the leaves of coca to Picchar (chew) the pure Inca style.

Day 3: Llulluchapampa - Chaquicocha - Puyupatamarka

After a walk of approximately two hours, we will reach the passage of the Warmiwañusca open at 4,200 masl. We will experience the typical Andean mountains, all covered with spectacular snow for lovers of photography. Then descend to the valley of Pacaymayo where it is time to take a break and have lunch.

We will continue the ascent to Runkurakay, where we will be part of a Thanksgiving Ceremony to the Pacha Mama (Mother Earth), we will offer Coca Leaves and Caramels. We will not miss the incredible view of the Vilcabamba mountain range.

On the route, we will visit the ruins of Runkuracay, Sayacmarca to finally stop at our camp in Puyupatamarka.

Day 4: Phuyupatamarka - Machu Picchu

Today is the big day, which begins with breakfast, we will visit Phuyupatamarka, to continue the descent in three hours for more than 3,200 steps of path of living stone until arriving at the town of WiñayHuayna, place where we can know the Inca constructions Originals recognizing the high hydraulic engineering and architectural beauty of the place, an impressive millennial heritage. We will have a guided tour of this incredible Archaeological center full of immense Andenes.

After lunch, the walk continues to Inti Punku, Puerta del Sol, which invites us to see the majestic horizon of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We will continue descending to reach our final destination around 4:00 pm, this day we will have the option of sleeping in tents or in a hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes, all at the passenger’s discretion

Day 5: Machu Picchu - Cusco

The Bus awaits us very early to ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, considered by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We will wake up, around 4:30 am to board the bus that will take us in 25 minutes to the fourth wonder of the world. Once there, we can visit the main sites within Machu Picchu, The Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Inti Huatana. We will not lose details when having a guided tour of two hours, having enough time to visit other places inside Machu Picchu and take pictures for the memory. You can even climb the Huayna Picchu mountain (not included in the package).

In the afternoon, we will return to the village of Aguas Calientes where we can have lunch (not included).

Our adventure is almost over, we will meet at 4:43 pm to take the train that will take us back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy where the buses await us to return to the imperial city of Cusco.

It is important to take into account that passengers arrive in Cusco at least two days before to acclimatize and make the trek. You can do practice tours like visiting the city and the Sacred Valley, these are gentle walks at considerable heights.

For this route it is also recommended to carry the following:
